Does FLVTO Convert FLV or MP4?

No. This tool converts YouTube audio to MP3 only, despite the name. The name is a legacy of the original FLVTO.biz, which launched in the era when YouTube served Flash video (FLV files). Video downloading was never this tool's job, and we will not pretend otherwise.

What you get

• MP3 audio extracted from public YouTube links.
• Full track. No trimming, no segments.
• Nothing else. No MP4, no FLV, no WEBM.

Why the name says FLV

The original FLVTO.biz took its name from FLV, the Flash video format YouTube used in the late 2000s. Back then, "FLV to MP3" described exactly what converters did. YouTube moved on from Flash years ago, but the name stuck around, and clone sites kept it for the brand recognition. Read what happened to the original.

What to use for video instead

If you need the video itself rather than the audio, this is not the tool for it. Honest scope beats a fake feature list: use this converter when you want the audio, and look elsewhere for video.
